Prayer for College Students

College is a time of independence and self- discovery, but with so many choices and decisions it can easily be a challenge. We become fearful of making mistakes, unclear about what we want to do in life, and question if we are taking the right path. We try to balance our social life, meeting new people, joining clubs, and participating in college events, with the pursuit of academic excellence that we often feel brunt out and want to quit. The need for financial security, a stable job, and high loan payments consume us with anxiety and desperation that we often look for an outlet of clarity and momentum to move forward.

As a loving father, God has commanded us to present to him with these worries and requests for peace and clarity through prayer. He understands that college life will be filled with struggles and confusion, and wants us to trust in him. He is our creator, and has a divine plan for each one of us; he will always provide us with the foundation of hope and strength. We need to remember that college is just one transition in our life, and it is a journey that God has placed us in.

Sometimes it is hard to pray when God feels so far away, but understand that God is always listening to our prayer requests.  Let the power of prayer help you regain the serenity of knowing that God is in control and will lead you towards the right path. Use online prayer as the way to find him in the midst of the difficulties and feeling of separation, for God sincerely wants the best for his sons and daughters. Ask him for advice and guidance to overcome your situation, to provide you with people that can help you, and thank him for what he has already given to you.

In Philippians 4:6-7, it says “do not worry about anything, but with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known to God and then the peace of God will guard your hearts and mind.”

Send your prayers to The Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the place where our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected. HolyLandPrayer.com is an organization that lives footsteps from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We understand that not everyone can make it here to this holy place and therefore we created a service to allow everyone pray at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher from the comfort of their own home wherever they may be.
